Shri Wagheshwar Temple, dedicated to Lord Shiva, is situated in the middle of Tondavali and is around 24 km away from Malvan. It is a cave built out of a big rock and has a Shivalingam. Shivalingam trapped in his net. After a few years, a belt of land was formed on that same location. It is believed that the sailors constructed a temple over the same site where the Shivalingam was found.

A bushy jungle, home to various animals, is situated behind this temple.  As per belief, tigers used to visit this temple, but did not harm any humans. This is why the temple came to be known as Wagheshwar, where ‘wagh’ means tiger, in the local language. Just beside the Temple there is a big rock in which a cave of size 80 Sq ft is carved. Many tourists come in Tondavali to visit this religious & beautiful tourist spot
